ABOUT US

Our Mission is to create a statewide network of support, advocacy, and education focused on an equitable and inclusive peer support workforce, by collaboratively integrating peer support across systems of care in Utah.

 

The Vision of the Utah Peer Network is a sustainable peer workforce that is maintained through education, community connection, and collaboration with peer stakeholders throughout the state.

We execute our mission and vision through services that support peer support specialists from diverse lived experience backgrounds, including mental health and/or substance use disorders, criminal justice involvement, being unhoused, and many more.

UPN GOALS

UPN is committed to 7 primary goals, all grounded in a foundation of diversity, equity, and inclusiveness.

UPN will create a robust pre-certification process to ensure new and aspiring peer specialists have everything needed to complete certification and start working.

UPN is committed to ensuring that all training and certification are up-to-date and evidence-based, so peer can practice confidently.

At UPN, we provide overarching support to peers, employers, and agencies. We provide coaching, professional development, and continuing education opportunities.

UPN supports employment for peers and agencies that employ peer specialists. We provide employment preparation services for new and aspiring peers and a job posting board.

UPN does outreach to educate communities and organizations about peer support and helps them implement peer support ethically and effectively. 

UPN aims to support peers through effective and ethical record stewardship by maintaining a data collection of peer specialists, employers, agencies, and providers.

UPN facilitates monthly meetings with representatives from agencies that employ peer specialists where information and resources can be shared and issues can be addressed.
