About the event

Rachelle Ellis is a Registered Art Therapist and Certified Health and Wellness coach with a demonstrated history of providing direct art therapy services to adults with substance use disorders, as well as adults with serious and persistent mental illnesses who are justice-involved. Ayesha Al-Akhdar has worked as peer support in recovery treatment centers and higher education for five years. In this talk, Rachelle and Ayesha will outline how arts-based programming can be used by folks within the boundaries of different credentials or certification. Several art directives and activities will be included as examples, with instructions and supply lists. Rachelle and Ayesha aim to empower all collegiate recovery professionals to use art in their collegiate recovery programming.
