About the event

The Utah Peer Network is proud to co-host a series of trainings with the Temple University Collaborative on Community Inclusion focused on providing basic knowledge associated with promoting community inclusion. While relevant to all persons in recovery, the primary focus will be on persons with significant mental health issues. The first session will describe what community inclusion is and why it is important and the latter two sessions will discuss the fundamental things to know and do to make community inclusion a reality. These sessions will be most based on these two documents that are freely available: 1) https://ps.psychiatryonline.org/doi/10.1176/appi.ps.202000394 and 2) http://www.tucollaborative.org/sdm_downloads/well-together/

Presenter bio: Mark Salzer, Ph.D. is a psychologist and Professor of Social and Behavioral Sciences in the College of Public Health at Temple University. He is also the Principal Investigator and Director of the Temple University Collaborative on Community Inclusion of Individuals with Psychiatric Disabilities, a rehabilitation research and training center that has been funded by the National Institute on Disability, Independent Living, and Rehabilitation Research since 2003. Dr. Mark Salzer has been a longtime research partner with persons with lived experience with a particular focus on peer support.
